Lena Schoeneborn from Germany affirms that it is her first time in Brazil. She speaks about the competition’s new format and says that there is going to be a strong fight for a medal.

Is it the first time you compete in Brazil?

- I’ve never been to Brazil before.

Did the combined event bring you any benefit?

- It wasn’t easy at first because the format changed when I had just won the most important competition in Modern Pentathlon.So I thought: Why change something that was going so well for me? I took it as a new challenge. In the last World Championship in London I proved to myself that I’m on the right track.

In which event do you stand out?

I can usually obtain good results in Fencing.

In your opinion, who is the favorite athlete in the women’s competition to win the Final?

- It is the World Cup Final and the best ranked 36 athletes will be there. Everyone had good results this season and I believe that 20 of them have a good chance of a medal.

In your opinion: What city will be chosen to host the 2016 Olympic Games? Why?

- I know Rio is one of the candidates (laugh). If it is chosen, it will be the first time a South American country hosts the competition.

What message would you like to give the people who will watch the World Cup Final 2009?
