How do you evaluate your evolution in the sport in the past few years?
- Undoubtedly, I have evolved considerably, specially in fencing and running.
Do you believe that you are going through your best technical and physical form?
- No. I believe that I am improving, but have not yet reached my best physical and technical form.
Is swimming still your strongest event?
-Yes. I still get a good score in this event. But I have been trying to improve in the other events in the Pentathlon and today I can say that I can get reasonable scores in the other events as well, almost as good as in swimming.
Are you emphasizing the other events or are you trying to improve your swimming even further?
- I have emphasized the combined event, but I have been training very hard for swimming.
Your weakest event is running. Do you believe that the combined event has brought benefits to your performance since it is intercalated with shooting? Did you benefit from this?
- I believe so. With the interval after the 1,000-meter run to shoot, my performance has improved.
What do you think about Rio de Janeiro hosting the 2016 Olympic Games? What benefits can this bring to Brazilian sport?
- I think it will be excellent for Brazil. The main benefit is the example it’ll set for future events.
Let’s talk about the World Cup Final. What are your chances in the competition?
- Considering that the Pentathlon can be a box full of surprises, I want to do my best in terms of obtaining a good score and individual results. If get 15th, 20th or 2nd place doesn’t matter. What matters is the feeling of having done my best.
Who are your strongest opponents?
-All the athletes who will take part are my direct opponents. Of course there are some athletes who have been performing well and could be considered favorites. They are: Aya, Asadauskaite, Lena and Amelie. There is also Margaux from the USA, who is also a representative for the Americas.
